Here’s the Japanese trailer for The Last Airbender. It’s good to know that the man with the very serious, deep voice also exists in Japan, because the intensity of his voice at the end when he says “Aru-bendah” is AWESOME.

I am looking forward to seeing if this movie 1) is awesome 2) sucks balls 3) meh. Here are my thoughts on the newest trailer.
Here’s the latest The Last Airbender tv spot with just a smattering of new footage not shown in any of the previous trailers.
Machinarium: This throwback point-and-click game from Amanita Design looks absolutely stunning—I love the surreal industrial aesthetic, the gorgeous details, and the ridiculously endearing robots. If you’d like to take a fascinating look at evolution of the artwork for Machinarium, check out these hi-res images of artists Jakub Dvorsky and Adolf Lachman’s initial sketches over here.
Here’s the Stargate Universe trailer that has been showing at theaters. It’s definitely conformed to preview trailer conventions, following the action/sex/action/sex/action/comedy paradigm (better known as “ASASAC”) all set to some sort of nu-metal soundtrack (you know, so guys in the audience will nod along and say, “this is for me”). Aaaaaanyways, check it out. Silly hollywood style trailer stuff aside, I’m ready for more Stargate. (thanks to @SyFy for the link)
Due to the single-minded tunnel vision that watching 2-3 episodes of Stargate SG-1 per day tends to breed, I nearly forgot to check and see if that big comic convention last month yielded any new BSG material. Here’s a new(ish) trailer for The Plan, the cylon side of the BSG story, set to release on dvd Oct. 27 and airing on syfy in November. Looks goooood. “Let’s get this genocide started,” says Cavil. Yikes.
New SGU trailer no. 2. They are several billion light years away from home. Using Star Trek Voyager as a point of reference, I’ve done the math:
Voyager: Distance=70,000 light years= 70 years to get home= 7 seasons
The Destiny: Distance- Several billion light years= several million years to get home= several hundred thousand seasons
Hands down, this will be Syfy’s longest running Stargate series ever.
I meant to post this a few days ago, but if you haven’t seen it yet here’s one of the new SGU trailers that premiered at Comicon and is now premiering for the 100,456,889th time on my humble blog. My thoughts on the show remain pretty much the same as my earlier speculative assessment that the show looks cool and dark, hopefully not at the expense of the slightly campy and fun edge that Stargate shows have had in the past. Meredith Woerner over at i09 seems to feel the same:
“But here’s my one issue: it seems like the delightful David Blue is seriously carrying the weight of the show’s funny on his shoulders. In order for the Destiny to get off the ground, we’re going to need to see that crew click together with ‘Sheppard and McKay playing with remote control cars in the hallway’ style chemistry.”
So looks like David Blue will bring the funny, but who will bring the wise-cracking badassness?
Alice in Wonderland trailer, Tim Burton style.
