Sunday viewing: ISS Commander Sunita Williams of NASA gives a video tour of the ISS. This is one of the coolest videos I’ve seen in a long time.
Best space station tour ever.
The microscopic Tardigrade, or “water bear,” is the only creature capable of surviving in the vacuum of space.
They may also be distant relatives of the Sky Bison.
Final Frontier Designs are making a brand new wardrobe for astronauts. Their vision is of a lightweight, inexpensive, and highly functional space suit ideal for a future of commercial space flights, which means that you just might be suiting up in one in the very near-ish future. (But hey, even if we’re not planning on launching into orbit anytime soon, we’d still take one of their nifty space patches.) It sounds sci-fi, but it’s totally real world. And totally our Project of the Day.
Because you never know when you might need a fully-functional space suit.
The universe is a big place. At bookends are the Big Bang and the Heat Death of the Universe, and the rest of Time is filled in with rockets, starships, time travel, robots, and presumably more mundane things like ham sandwiches as well. Check out our latest curation, Lost in Space.
Boldly going where no man has gone before, on Kickstarter.
Incredible video of the Southern Lights as seen from the International Space Station.
