04. OH EXPLETIVE: 8-BIT ATTACK!
OH EXPLETIVE! is a series of illustrations about “ass kicking and mayhem” and “some of the most awesome things life has to offer.” What does that mean?! Well, in addition to the 8-bit mayhem you see above, artist Safwat Saleem creates illustrated chaos with unicorns, lions, zombies, knife fights, sharks, and grenade launchers. He’s also played by a teddy bear in his project video. (Seriously.) Safwat hopes to turn his images into high-quality, handmade prints, and we want this one for the office.
Added bonus: Safwat is a super awesome person, and the creator of an early Kickstarter project featuring these rad satirical political posters.
Filip Santa is a 19-year-old designer from Slovakia. He’s in secondary school like most 19 year olds are, and has been doing freelance web design for the past few years. He’s ready for the next step, though. The next step according to Filip? He’d like to take his talents to Silicon Valley, and he launched a website to let everyone know about it at TakeMeToSiliconValley.com. The site serves as a resume and timeline of Santa’s life, and is actually quite humorous and brave at the same time. (via Gutsy Designer Launches Site as his Resume)
Dear TNW: How does designing a site that drops you on an image of a woman’s cleavage constitute “humorous and brave”?

The See What You Print printer is a concept “to bring the printer to the 21st century, by stripping it down of its cumbersomeness.” (via This amazing printer is literally too good to be true - The Next Web)
YES somebody please make this printer a reality.
A fun look back on the various prototypes for different game consoles, from the NES to the PS3.
My favorite is definitely this crazy Wii prototype, which looks like a cookie:
