Here’s some photos of me dressed as the Tardis with the Tenth Doctor for Halloween. 

I don’t usually post pictures of myself on the internet because that’s just…embarrassing. But, I’ve been wanting to try some Doctor Who cosplay for a very long time, and used Halloween as an excuse to pull it all together. 

I did some google image research and concluded that I probably wouldn’t be able to make one of those super flouncy you-need-to-know-how-to-sew Tardis dresses, so I opted to try something (much) simpler.

I bought a Tardis-blue dress from American Apparel (ya, I know). I made the “windows” out of some remnant shiny white fabric and a roll of blue tape, which I then safety-pinned onto the front of my dress. 

I made the police box sign by printing out the text and glueing it to a piece of cardboard.

Last but not least, I raided my kitchen pantry and made a light-up Tardis hat using a clear plastic take out container, one twisty tie, some more blue tape, an LED bike light, and a piece of elastic. 

While it wasn’t quite as cool as a lot of the Tardis cosplayers I’ve seen at conventions, I feel pretty happy with how things turned out for a very last-minute endeavor. 

On a side note, if you wear a Tardis costume to a party where nobody watches Doctor Who, people just think you’re a police box and seem to think that’s rather clever. They have no idea what they’re missing out on!!
