Having lived in a ridiculous midwestern college town for way too long, an event like Zombiecon was something that I thought pretty much happened on a nightly basis. If you took to the streets at around 3am, there would inevitably be clusters of drunken strays meandering across intersections, wandering haphazardly in front of cars, and running into inanimate objects. The hoards of tanked college students, blindly in search of food and incapable of accessing higher brain functions had achieved full-on zombietude.
To get some zombie action in NYC, this October 24th I can attend Zombiecon 2009, a loosely organized event involving coordinated zombie costumes and heavy drinking. Sounds like the perfect event for spawning a million craigslist missed connections postings beginning with “you had gray skin and were covered in lesions, is it just me or did you bleed on me?”
Or, if you don’t live near New York, you can hit up the nearest Big Ten college campus around bar time and watch the zombie madness unfold any night of the week.
